About the
Director
Sharon Heffley received her
Master of Arts in Speech Pathology
from the University of Pittsburgh in 1972. She is certified by the American
Speech-Language and Hearing Association and is licensed to
practice in Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia.
She developed and published her own teaching materials,
now
copyrighted as the PRISM program. She
regularly designs new materials to meet specific, individual needs of her
clients.
Through an association with The American
English Clinic in Pasig City, Philippines, she developed a multi-media
program to improve pronunciation and fluency for individuals living
there.
Mrs. Heffley writes a monthly pronunciation improvement column for the
Asian Fortune newspaper. She is available to speak with groups and clubs
about accent
modification. She served as Vice-President and Secretary of Corspan,
an international organization of Speech Pathologists involved in Corporate Speech
Pathology work.
Although she moved to South Carolina, she
continues to provide intensive group programs in the Metro DC area, private
programs via webcam. She also currently has associates who provide
private programs in the Metro DC area.
