Intensive Group Program
Gas
is expensive and your time is limited, so we've changed the way we provide our
programs. Our group programs are now 'intensive'. We work full days
in small groups to help you learn and integrate the necessary changes into your
communication skills.
Our
next Intensive Group Program will meet in the Tysons Corner area off route
7 in Virginia. Dates are expected to be April 10 and 11 and May
8, 2010. This program meets for three 6 1/2 hour days as a group.
Students also will receive 3 hours of private practice sessions with the
instructor via web cams, telephone or Skype.
Many
companies help employees cover some or all of the costs of these programs.
Please request a brochure that you can take to your your supervisor or HR
representative. You or your company may contact me directly for additional
information.
Registration
is completed at the time of a $150 deposit or payment. A convenient
payment plan is available for individuals. Register before Check Registration for
information regarding the course outline.
These
group intensive programs are limited to five students to provide individual
attention to each student's need.
Companies
and other organizations may also request large on-site group programs at reduced
fees.

All
programs use the PRISM materials.
These materials include a workbook and CD. The CD includes the audio
lessons that are used for home practice, allowing you to practice the sounds and
melodies of American English that you learned in class.
This
process helps you to improve your listening and speaking skills. Soon, you will
be able to monitor and correct your own errors as you speak!
All programs begin with an evaluation to determine which areas are difficult for
you. The evaluation looks for patterns of errors with:

Most
speakers progress well in a group program. Class is limited to six students who:
Intensive
Programs
Intensive
classes meet on a Saturday and Sunday of one weekend, and one other weekend day
the following month.
This
provides the student the time to practice. The instructor maintains
individual weekly follow up with each participant through telephone or internet
contact. For those proficient with webcams, video follow-up is available.
The
intensive programs are available to corporations at any time, with either
weekend or weekday classes.
Custom
Corporate Programs
We offer our intensive programs to
corporations who wish to aid employees with their communication skills. In
addition to accent modification programs, we also offer presentation skills
program for non-native speakers of English.
Private
Programs
These programs are designed for individuals who:

need or desire more individual attention.

need fewer sessions due to a lighter than average accent and has one or two
specific goals he/she wishes
to work on.
In addition,
presentation skills coaching can be done in private classes. Video taping is
also available. Skills covered include:
You may enroll in private
classes at any time. All private classes with Sharon Heffley are done
via web cam, or you may enroll with one of her associates in the Metro
area. Classes with associates may be provided at your location or the
associate's office.

instructor listens as you practice the features of American English, and
provides instant feedback of accuracy, and helps you to make modifications
as necessary.
